Repayment Provisions
Scholarships awarded from the Star-Supporter and James M. Philputt call for a promissory note to be signed by the recipients for each award.
Recipients of scholarships agree to the following stipulations:
- It is understood that all Disciples Home Missions (DHM) Ministerial Scholarship recipients are preparing for and will enter full or part-time ministry. All monies received will be considered a scholarship if the recipient serves as a minister in a ministerial setting for three consecutive years.
- Recognizing that life situations change, recipients not entering the ministry or who fail to serve in a ministerial setting for three consecutive years are expected to repay the total of all scholarship awards received from DHM. The scholarship will convert to an interest free loan and the recipient and DHM will negotiate a repayment plan.
By completing an application, you will be considered for any scholarship
for which you qualify.
Applications received after the March
15 deadline will be declared ineligible.
